Not State Recognised, Not UK Recognised, Not Australia Recognised

The C.H.E.K Institute and its qualifications are private certifications only. They are not accredited, recognised, or regulated by Ofqual in the UK, CIMSPA, or any equivalent government or industry authority in Australia, the USA, or elsewhere. This means your qualification carries no official standing within the mainstream health, fitness, or exercise professions.

CHEK Europe — Dissolved, Then Restored

Public records show that C.H.E.K Europe Ltd was dissolved and struck off the register. It was later restored and continued operating — collecting fees, selling courses, and licensing practitioners — while the company status was effectively dead. This raises serious questions about legality, accountability, and where your money actually goes.

Jobs Are Rare — If You Can Get Any At All

The Institute’s own published materials effectively admit that finding work as a C.H.E.K Practitioner is rare. There is no career pathway, no official recognition, and no guarantee of employment. Practitioners pay thousands in training and annual license fees — yet many find they cannot secure clients because the qualification is not recognised by employers, physiotherapists, doctors, or the wider industry.

C.H.E.K Connect Has Been Down For Weeks — Your Visibility Is Zero

C.H.E.K Connect — the practitioner directory that students are told will help them find work — has been offline in maintenance mode for weeks. Practitioners pay annual license fees to be listed — yet the platform does not work, has not been fixed, and offers zero visibility or leads. You pay for a service that simply does not exist.

No Money-Back Guarantee — Speak Your Mind And Get Harassed

There is no money-back guarantee. If you are unhappy, disagree, or ask difficult questions — you risk being silenced, removed, hidden, or targeted. Speaking your mind can result in harassment, bullying, threats, and formal intimidation rather than answers or fair treatment.

Fake Lawyer Letters Instead Of Answers

When a practitioner raised legitimate concerns about company filings, directory visibility, and fair treatment — instead of addressing the facts, a fake lawyer’s letter was sent to try to silence and intimidate them. The letter contained no proper solicitor signature, no SRA registration number, and demands no legitimate legal professional could ever make. This is how the Institute responds to questions — with threats, not transparency.

The Training Content Is Excellent — But It Is Not Recognised

The knowledge and techniques taught in the courses are genuinely valuable — the anatomy, physiology, assessment, and holistic health principles are powerful. But because the qualification carries no official accreditation — doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and major employers do not recognise it. No independent professional body or university has formally validated Paul C.h.e.k’s work or methods. The content may be excellent — but it is not officially recognised or verifiable.

The True Cost — £322 Per Month For Three Years

The financial commitment is enormous — approximately £322 per month over three years — before annual license fees, renewal costs, and additional training. Meanwhile, you can become a recognised Personal Trainer in 6 months or less, or complete a recognised nutrition qualification in 6 months — and begin working. C.H.E.K offers no such gateway into the industry.

HLC — You Pay Upfront, Get Your Certificate Three Years Later

For the Holistic Lifestyle Coach qualification — you pay upfront in full — but you will not receive your full certificate for three years. You pay immediately, but recognition is delayed. Meanwhile, accredited qualifications elsewhere certify you and let you work within months.

You Cannot Just Walk In — The Barrier Is Very High

The course content is extremely deep and demanding. If you do not already have a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and movement science — you will struggle to qualify. There is no accessible pathway for people switching careers from other fields. Despite the cost and difficulty — the qualification remains unrecognised.

Teachers Are Not University-Qualified Educators

The instructors are experienced practitioners — but they have not been trained as teachers or educators at university. They are not formally qualified to teach, adapt, or support different learning needs. If you have a learning difference, disability, or require accessible teaching methods — there is no guarantee of support or reasonable adjustment.

Practitioners Get Hidden — Your Work Gets Sabotaged

Qualified Master Level 5 practitioners — fully paid up — have had their profiles removed, hidden, or erased from the directory. They pay thousands in license fees every year — yet potential clients cannot find them. This happened to me — qualified since 2013, then deliberately erased from public view.

Gavin Jennings — His Own Level 4 Status Not Renewed Since 2019

Gavin Jennings, the Institute’s CEO, did not renew his own Level 4 practitioner status after 2019. Yet he continues to require every other practitioner to pay annual license fees to maintain their listing — while his own qualification was not kept current. He collects license fees from everyone else — but did not maintain his own.

£4.5 Million From A Worthless Piece Of Paper

If there are approximately 75,000 practitioners worldwide paying license fees — the Institute generates an estimated £4.5 million per year in license revenue alone — for a qualification that no government recognises, no employer verifies, and no authority validates. Practitioners pay thousands — for a certificate that effectively has no official value outside the Institute itself.

Assaults, Threats, And Intimidation

I was physically assaulted at an Institute event. I was threatened by senior faculty members. My complaints were ignored completely. No investigation was ever opened. If this is how they treat a Master Level 5 — imagine how they treat new students.

Paul C.H.E.K — Contradictions At The Heart Of The Institute

Paul C.H.E.K positions himself as a holistic health and wellness leader — yet openly advocates tobacco and cannabis use, practices that directly contradict the health and healing message sold to students. What you are taught in class and what is practiced at the top — are not the same thing.

£400 Per Hour — A Fantasy, Not A Reality

The Institute markets the idea that practitioners can charge £400 per hour. In reality — no C.H.E.K Practitioner is charging £400 per hour in the real world. It is a marketing fantasy used to sell courses — not a realistic career outcome.

Six Months To Build A Clinic — A False Promise

Gavin Jennings claims he built a successful clinic in six months. Every business expert — including Paul C.H.E.K himself — states that building a reputable, sustainable business takes 6 years or 10,000 hours of consistent work. Most new businesses fail within the first few years. Promising rapid success is misleading at best.

Six CHEK Practitioner Studios Have Closed Down

Multiple C.H.E.K Practitioners who opened clinics — following the Institute’s advice — have closed, gone bankrupt, or walked away. The pathway they sell does not reliably lead to success.

Conclusion

The knowledge taught in the C.H.E.K courses can genuinely transform your understanding of health and the human body. But a great education is not the same thing as a recognised career qualification.

Before you commit three years and thousands of pounds — ask yourself: Is this qualification recognised by employers? Is the company I am paying legitimate and transparent? Will I be supported — or silenced if I ask questions? Is the career outcome realistic — or marketing fantasy? Make your decision based on facts, not sales pitches.
