Scott Byrant C.H.EK practitioner and personal trainer explains

the practical reasons why maybe we’re not losing weight

Hormone Imbalance Can Make So you’re in the gym, training hard, working out so much that you’re bound to lose weight and get that New year, New You figure in no time right? THINK AGAIN!

Over training in the gym can in-fact damage your body from the inside out when it comes to CV or cardiovascular training in the gym.

In my 22 years of being a personal trainer I see so many people get it wrong when it comes to working out and trying to lose fat by over doing it on the stepper or tread mill for example is seriously damaging your body inside, mainly because of the cortisol in your body – secreted by the adrenal glands and commonly known as the stress hormone.

Cortisol is at its highest at around 8am and naturally gets lower thoughout the day, so by taking part in cv or cardiovascular training too late at night is very bad for the body as you need to keep tapping into the Adrenal glands for it to produce more Cortisol – The later you work out, the more work the Adrenal glands have to do and this in turn results in fat storage around the belly button area.

As a woman gets older, their hormones get lower and results in a loss of bone and muscle mass, during the menstrual cycle, protein is also lost, a huge reason why women should stick to weight training whilst in the gym – to keep hormones healthy.

I am asked time and time again, ‘If i weight train, will i not end up with too many muscle and look like a man!? NO NO NO, men have 10% more testosterone so for a woman to get this big is impossible, unless your genetically made up that way. Muscle will keep burning fat 72 hrs after the weight work out and will keep cortisol and adrenal stress low.

If we look at Madonna, she regularly weight trains to keep her Hormones heathy and dose a lot of yoga to keep flexible and spiritual. she runs too, but only to get out the in fresh air .she looks great for her age! how many of you would like to look that good at her age ?

Hormone imbalance can make you fat

IT all about balance.

Hormone Imbalance is a key factor to consider whilst working out and for woman that like to stay lean and lose fat. I have found the bad diet, bad training and stress can Imbalance your hormones in the body and I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to get a hormone test done! This is something I do with all my clients because if for example you have Adrenal Fatique, it will make it so much harder to lose fat and achieve your weight loss goals. Arenal Glands are responsible for every major function in your body, like fats and protein, metabolism, detox capacity and thyroid function, so the harder you train the more stress you put on the body which will cause Adrenal fatique which won’t allow you to squeeze into that bikini!

My top tips are:

1 eat for your metabolic type
2 get your hormones tested
3 increase lean muscle mass
4 use compound exercise
5 balance cardiovascular & resistance training
6 eat soon after exercise
7 avoid eating big meals late at night
8 see a C.H.E.K. Practitioner – we have to train and study for a minimum of 6 years (unlike Personal trainers who only need 1-6 weeks to qualify) We know the body inside and out!
9 Get to bed for 10.30pm every night
10 Drink plenty of water.

Obesity Levels In Children At All Time High In The London

 Obesity levels in children

Obesity trainer London

At all time high in the UK,

Scott Bryant is a top personal trainer and CHEK Practitioner, he shares his views on children in our society today

What has gone wrong ? Some school dinners?

Too much home work? too much stress to do well in tests and examinations?

Not enough play time outdoors?

Morbidly Obese Help

Morbidly Obese Help

Obesity Levels In Children At All Time High In The UK Also, in a lot of busy households, mum and dad are eating poorly. As we grow up we mirror our parents, as they are our closest role models: we see mum and dad sitting in front of the tv eating pizza and we think it’s cool. On top of that we have pc’s, lap tops, ipads and play stations – which I think we should rename “fat stations”.
Treats for kids are almost always terrible for the body – Coca Cola, why on earth would you want to give your kids something that is strong enough to disintegrate a tooth over a 2 day period. Would you be happy to give your child paint stripper? no thought not.. then why do we happily give children sweets and ice cream which contain  diethyl glycol — a cheap chemical used to take the place of eggs, which is also used in anti-freeze and paint removers and Acetate, again common in most ice creams and sweets, can also be used as a paint solvent and it’s vapors have been known to cause chronic organ damage!  – Fun food in reality is nothing by poison.

Kids are getting less and less exercise because they spend a lot of time sitting around: in the car to and from school, at school all day and then evenings and weekends in front of the tv, play station etc, When they come home from school they have snacks and meals full of fat and sugar and then they go to their room to sit in front of their pc, do their home work and then the ‘fat station’ goes on till 10 pm or even 12 am.
This is why some of our kids are getting fat. And the presence of TVs and PCs etc. in their bedrooms means that there is lots of electro-magnetic pollution which stops the body from going into the deep sleep which their young bodies need for healing and cleaning.
Bad food too late at night, too much stress from school and not eating as a family. This could be the biggest mistake as we de-stress when we eat with mum and dad and we learn to enjoy good food. The breakdown of families and and the stress from school and too much home work and the stress to be the best is greatly contributing to making kids fat.
There is so much bad food in the shops and on tv that we just don’t know what to buy any more. 40 years ago we did not have such a problem with fat children: we lived differently:
no school runs in the car; less homework; lots of family time; getting to bed on time – fewer late nights; fresh meat and vegetables, more water to drink; more exercise, and less ‘sitting’. All this would improve the health of our children and reduce the incidence of obesity.

When it comes to hyperactive children, I think it is too much bad food, and sweet drinks, some school dinners which are still loaded with fat and sugar and not enough exercise. Sugar is the biggest drug on the the planet and it’s legal. It is in all processed food: the food companies know it is addictive that why it is in everything from baked beans to bread and cakes, and of course soft drinks. Microwave meals and processed meat products also often contain sugar.
You put bread in your kid’s packed lunch along with a chocolate bar. They get no exercise at school. At home, mum and dad are too busy to play with their kids or to take the time to give them good food, but stress them out to do their home work. Hyperactive children become this way because of bad foods, no love from mum and dad, and too much sugar.
Metabolic Typing DietAspartame is another problem. It is toxic. It replaces sugar in chewing gum and lots of kids’ sweets and fizzy drinks. People think that because the products are sugar free they are not bad for you. The opposite is true. It is a drug and is not a food that the body can recognise. At 100 degrees, in the body, it turns into formaldehyde that is used to embalm dead bodies.
Children’s bodies are like plants: they need fresh water, good food, lots of loving care, sun light and movement and sufficient rest at night. If you play loud rock music to a plant it will not grow in the way it should – this has been scientifically proven. If you water it too much or too little it will die.
This is where we are going wrong with our children`; too much stress, too much homework, bad food, too much sugar, not enough exercise, too much tv and computer games, and not enough love. FEMALE FIRST.

The Bulgarian Bag: Old School Training, Modern-Day Power

The Bulgarian Bag was created back in 2005 by wrestling coach Ivan Ivanov in Bulgaria. He designed it out of necessity—his wrestlers lacked versatile training equipment. What started as a creative solution has now become a staple in the personal training and MMA world. Fighters like Conor McGregor and Aubrey Marcus have helped shine a spotlight on this unique training tool, making it more popular than ever.

I’ve personally been using the Bulgarian Bag for the past two years, though I remember seeing it way back when Paul Chek was showing it off in his early YouTube videos. From day one, I found it incredibly demanding—building serious core strength, endurance, and raw power. It’s one of those tools that translates directly into athletic performance, especially for sports and martial arts where you need to throw, twist, and move in multiple planes.

At first, I even tried making my own version by filling a bag with sand. Let’s just say…it didn’t quite work out. Eventually, I invested in a properly made one filled with cloth, and that’s when the magic really started.

The Bulgarian Bag reminds me a lot of clubbells. With clubs, I noticed my shoulders got stronger and my old aches and pains began to disappear. But with the bag, it’s on another level—it pushes you in the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes, making you stronger and more resilient all-around.

Sadly, you won’t see Bulgarian Bags in many commercial gyms. They’re usually only found in high-end private gyms where trainers bring their own or where the manager really understands their value. If you do get a chance to try one, grab it—you’ll feel the difference immediately.

The Bulgarian Bag isn’t just a workout tool, it’s an experience. For me, it’s been one of the best additions to my training arsenal.

Bulgarian Bag Training Beyond Wrestling

Although the Bulgarian Bag was originally designed for wrestling conditioning, it’s just as effective for other combat sports like judo and MMA. In fact, more and more fighters are using it as a staple in their training. Over the past two years of working with the bag myself, I’ve found it to be fun, challenging, and seriously hard work—but also one of the best tools for developing the fundamental movement patterns needed in martial arts and everyday life.

We live in a world full of “functional” training tools—TRX, BOSU, clubbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, Swiss balls, and more. Each has its benefits, but the Bulgarian Bag stands out because it works the body in all planes of motion while demanding grip strength, rotational power, and endurance. There’s even a water-filled version available, which adds another level of instability and functionality.

That said, the bag isn’t something I’d hand to a complete beginner. The average person starting out at the gym would find it quite demanding without proper instruction. To really benefit, you need a trainer who understands how to build a safe and effective programme around it.

Personally, I found that combining clubbells, the Bulgarian Bag, TRX, and BOSU gave me a well-rounded, sport-specific, functional programme. During lockdown, these were the only tools I had—and they turned out to be a lifesaver. They’re also far more affordable and space-friendly compared to machines like rowing ergs, spin bikes, or the classic Total Gym (great piece of kit, but pricey!).

The beauty of tools like the bag, kettlebells, or TRX is that they don’t require much space, they’re versatile, and you can take them anywhere—even to the park. You don’t have to confine your training indoors, and that freedom is part of what makes this style of training so enjoyable.

Bulgarian Bag: Not for the Faint-Hearted

The Bulgarian Bag is hands down one of the best pieces of strength and conditioning equipment for martial artists, fighters, or anyone who simply wants to push themselves to the next level. With it, you can squat, lunge, swing, twist, and throw—working the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes of movement. In short: it’s a complete workout. And let’s be real… it’s not for pussies (yes, I said it—laugh out loud).

A quick word of advice: be careful when buying online. Always go for a certified bag. Don’t waste time or money on the cheap versions you have to fill with sand—I’ve tried them, and they’re a complete letdown. Proper bags come in different weights, and if you’re curious, there are plenty of great videos of wrestlers using them on YouTube. Watch one, and you’ll see exactly how intense this training can be.

For anyone who isn’t afraid of a challenge, the Bulgarian Bag is a powerhouse tool. But don’t expect it to be easy—this is a full-on workout, and definitely not for the workout-shy.

Body systems and organs that were once capable of cleaning out unwanted substances are now completely overloaded to the point where toxic material remains inside our tissues. Our bodies try to protect us from dangerous substances by setting it aside, surrounding it with mucous and fat so that it will not cause an imbalance or trigger an immune response (some people carry up to 15 extra pounds of mucous that harbors this wastes so we do need to detox London)

Detoxification through special cleansing diets and colonics is the best way to assist your body’s natural self-cleaning system. It is especially important for immune-compromised diseases like cancer, arthritis, diabetes and chronic fatigue. However, even if your diet is good, a spring cleanse can revitalize your system and rid your body of harmful bacteria, viruses and parasites. It is a simple three-step process. See a Mater Paul  C.H.E.K Practitioner, level 5 eat the right food for your body type and drink lots of water and rest.

Before you start any detox you must.get your body and mind ready by planning the days before your going start making sure get lots of rest . and good veg diet for 2 weeks before you start your Cleaning program do less exercise as you start your detox.and drink a lot of water when doing your detox to flash out the toxin.

Detox diets or cleanses are popular health trends that claim to eliminate toxins from your body and improve your overall health. However, there is limited scientific evidence to support the efficacy of detox diets.

Common Signs of Detoxification:

Bloodshot eyes bone aches canker sores constipation dehydration depression diarrhoea dizziness.

  9. Lymph gland swelling migrating aches/pains.
  10. Nasal discharge nausea nervousness nightmares.
  11. Rashes.
  12. Shortness of breath skin rash.

4. Clearer healthier skin.
5. Slowdown aging.
6. Rejuvenate adrenal. glands.
7. And much more.

Do detox diet really work:

Mary answers his question is yes, or no doing the cabbage soup diet definitely lose weight but you can’t stain just eating cabbage fruit diet just pure sugar into the body of problems later so the best diet Scott found for detoxing the whole of the body is the Metabolic typing diet where there is a series of detoxes and supplements in which to get the body to peak health
Foot patches, do they work as a detox? Yes, he’s been using them for years. Only detoxing one part of the body, all of the body. so don’t just think you just need foot patches to clean and detox the body it’s much more in that
Can you just drink a simple tea to detox no this is a very light detox but it won’t detox the whole body you’d have to drink gallons and gallons of tea to get a result
Fasting can be a form of detox or quitting alcohol can be another form of detox or just avoiding certain foods like white flower sugar, dairy and Food can bring about a detox reaction in the body, but you have to be careful you do detox too fast you can have reactions to detox like flu or cold symptoms feeling low or depressed or craving certain food, but don’t know why make sure you see your healthcare professional to help you with your detox
